Dry a Baby After a Bath

Cover the baby's head after the bath to keep his body heat from escaping.

Dry the baby one body part at time. Keep the baby covered and remove one leg. Pat it down with the towel to soak up all the water. Pat rather than rub. Cover up that leg and move on. This keeps your baby warm.

Use lotion to soften and protect the baby's skin. Apply it to each body part after you dry.

Drying your baby properly after a bath is important. You want to remove all the water so the baby doesn't get cold avoid or develop dry skin. Do this by patting the baby with a soft, thick towel rather than rubbing. Keep the baby covered and dry him off one portion at a time. - by eHow
