Cook Chicken for a Baby

Cook Chicken for a Baby - Thoroughly cook the chicken breast at 375 degrees F for about 20 minutes, until the internal temperature reads 165 degrees F. Cover the chicken and allow it to cool.

Chop the cooled chicken into small cubes, no bigger than an inch.

With a food processor or blender, puree the chicken pieces for about a minute, until the chicken has a powdery consistency.

Add distilled water to the pureed chicken until the mix is as smooth as the food your baby is used to. Begin with an ounce or two of water, then keep adding until you have the desired consistency.

Feed the chicken puree to your baby slowly. He'll probably eat only a couple of ounces at a time. Unused leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for two to three days, or frozen for two to three weeks.

When a baby is 6 months old, he's ready to make the transition from breast milk or formula to solid foods. He should start with baby cereals, fruits and vegetables. Then, at 8 to 10 months, he should be ready for protein, such as chicken. - by eHow
