You can begin the declaration with the proud parent's names such as "Mary and John Smith are pleased to announce the birth of their adopted son, Jacob Matthew Smith."

List any or all of the following details: baby's birth weight and length, time of birth, location of birth, names of siblings' home address.

Include the parents' names at the end of the announcement, if you did not use them at the beginning of the announcement.

All birth announcements are much the same, with omissions or additions as the parents desire. For the birth of an adopted baby, the birth announcement should contain the same details as any other but could include the word "adopted." This is not to single the child out. Instead, it will enable friends and relatives to understand and appreciate the circumstances of the child's inclusion within the family and welcome her with love. - by eHow
