Flip Baby Over to Get Him to Sleep - Slowly slide one hand under your baby's back, and place the other hand gently on his tummy. Do this as slowly as possible without any sudden or jerky movements.
Turn your baby slowly onto his side and, in the same fluid movement, turn him onto his back. Gently slide your hand out from under his back before he is lying flat.
Flip Baby Over to Get Him to Sleep
Put a passifier in his mouth to soothe him back to sleep or turn on his mobile to calm him. There is a good chance he will wake up while you're turning him, but if he is dry, recently fed and comfortable, he should be able to go back to sleep on his own.
It is recommended by the American Association of Pediatrics for parents and caregivers to get infants to lie on their backs during sleep to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The danger of SIDS seems to peak after 4 months of age, but you should still encourage your child to lie on his back for developmental reasons. If your infant has rolled onto his back while sleeping, you can change his position without disturbing him too much. - by eHow
