Use Chinese Astrology to Predict a Baby's Gender

Use Chinese Astrology to Predict a Baby's Gender - Know that Chinese astrology signs, which are based on 12 animals, are determined by the year of your birth. The 12 animal signs are the Dog, Dragon, Horse, Monkey, Pig, Ox, Rabbit, Rat, Rooster, Sheep, Snake and Tiger. Each year has its own animal sign, with the same animal sign recurring every 12 years. For instance, 2000 was the Year of the Dragon.

Figure out the lunar year in which you were born. Chinese astrology follows a moon-based year, not the solar year as in Western cultures. While using your solar birth year does offer insight, it is not as accurate as your lunar year and age. If you were born in January or February, your lunar age may be different than your solar age.

Go beyond your basic animal sign. The month and day you were born are also used in Chinese horoscopes to determine a character analysis.

Use the father's birthday with the Chinese Fortune Calendar chart (see Resources below). This chart uses the father's age and Chinese astrology sign to predict the baby's gender.

Let the mother's information predict the baby's gender instead. Labor of Love offers two different charts that claim to predict the gender (see Resources below). For more accuracy, remember to use your lunar age or year when working with these charts.

Chinese astrology uses many factors to predict a baby's gender. While most of the online charts and methods state that they are for entertainment purposes, the roots of the predictions lie deep in Chinese astrology. - by eHow
