Make a Baby Bag

Make a Baby Bag - Obtain a diaper bag pattern. Patterns can either be purchased at any fabric store or printed out for free online. For free patterns, please refer to the resources section of this article.

Print out the pattern onto printer paper. Carefully cut out the pieces and tape them together. You can place the tape on either side of the pattern.

Trace the various pieces onto your fabric with a washable fabric pen and cut out the pieces. Your pattern will specify which fabric goes with each pattern piece.

Pin the two side lining pieces together. Place the fabric with the wrong sides out and sew along the two sides.

Pin the lining bottom to the side pieces and stitch around the bottom, leaving a six inch opening to turn out the bag.

You don't have to surrender your fashion sense and style when you become a mom. With two hours of free time and some basic sewing skills, you can create a different baby bag for every occasion. From casual play dates to formal affairs, you'll look great sporting a custom made baby bag that matches your outfit. Who knows, people might not even realize there are diapers inside. - by eHow
