Place a dime-size amount of liquid dish washing detergent in the sink. Add warm water until you have enough to clean the bottles. Wash the baby bottles thoroughly with a clean cloth. Make sure that you wash the nipples, collars and caps well to remove all of the milk residue. Use a bottle brush to aid you in this process.

Rinse the bottles off with clean water. Place them on a towel until the water boils. Using tongs, add the baby bottles to the boiling water one at a time along with the nipples, collars and caps. Allow them to boil for 5 to 10 minutes.

Remove the bottles, nipples, collars and caps with the tongs. Place them in a dish strainer to dry completely.

When you bottle-feed your baby, you need to make sure that you clean and sanitize the bottles. Baby bottles can harbor bacteria and germs and they need to be cleaned after every feeding to prevent illness. After a thorough scrubbing, the bottles will need to be sanitized to ensure that no germs or bacteria remain. - by eHow
