Make Your Baby a Genius

Make Your Baby a Genius - Focus on health during pregnancy. As "Self Magazine" reports, expecting moms can likely increase the mental capacity of their babies by working to maintain a healthy diet. While you are pregnant, eat a diet rich in vegetables and fruits and faithfully take your prenatal vitamins to ensure that your baby receives the nutrients she requires for proper brain development.

Promote exploratory play. Much of the information that children gather in early years is acquired through play. Encouraging your child to explore the world around her is an easy way to promote brain development. When your child sits splashing in the tub, don't worry about the little bit of water that you will have to clean up--allow her to engage in this exploration as this play is how she develops her budding mental abilities.

Engage in face-to-face play. Set aside time each day to play with your tot. Get down on her level, laying on the ground and making eye contact. This practice engages the child and keeps her focused.

Present the child with puzzle challenges. Turn everyday play into an intelligence building exercise. Create simple challenges for your baby by placing balls under cups and encouraging her to lift the cover to reveal the hidden object. You can also give her rudimentary picture puzzles and help her properly assemble them.

Read to your baby often. While it may seem that your baby is unaware of what you are doing, reading to your tot daily is important for brain development and an easy way to bolster her intelligence. Conclude each busy day with a story to help your child develop her mental capacity and show her thst reading is important for her future success.

Producing an intellectually skilled child is a dream for many parents. While you can't necessarily transform your baby into a gifted individual, you can increase your tot's mental capacity and improve the likelihood he'll perform well in academic situations. Preparing your baby for success requires merely a little hands-on parenting and an emphasis on learning. - by eHow
