Make Baby Oil - Take a common type of base oil to use. This can be anything from olive oil, to flaxseed oil, or apricot oil. Pick according to scent and texture preference, but most of these will work just fine.
Pour a cup of the selected oil into a large bowl for mixing. Take 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 tablespoons of organic calendula flowers and sprinkle the flowers into the bowl. These are fairly easy to find at organic shopping centers or health food stores. Stir the contents of the bowl lightly for one to two minutes.

Pour the contents into a metal pot and put it on the stove at the low heat setting. Let the pot sit on the stove for 4 1/2 hours. At this point the contents of the calendula flowers will have been absorbed by the oil. After the time has past, turn off the heat and remove the pot from the stove. Let it cool in open air until the oil is at room temperature.
Now you will need to strain out the remaining calendula flowers. Take a fresh bowl and pour the contents of the pot into it, straining out the flowers while you do so. Try using a fine strainer to catch all the small flower particles that are remaining. Once the filtered oil is in the bowl you can now transfer it to a bottle for storage and use.
Store the baby oil in a cool and dry place, most specifically the refrigerator. Make sure that the temperature in the refrigerator is not set too low or parts of the oil will freeze. You can let this keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 1/2 weeks. If you are storing the oil in a warm and moist place, such as a bathroom, only let it sit for around a week. When applying the oil use an amount that equals one to three dimes in size.
Baby oil is one of the more commonly used infant hygiene products out there. Often commercial versions include a number of harsh, artificial chemicals that you would not like to expose your baby to. This method of making baby oil involves making calendula oil, which is often calming on sensitive infant skin and is often used for intimate massage between adults. - by eHow
