Grow Baby's Hair Quickly

Grow Baby's Hair Quickly - Check your baby's head for cradle cap, a condition that produces yellow or white flakes on his scalp. These flakes can interfere with your baby's new hair growth. Use a soft-bristled brush or terrycloth to gently exfoliate the scales. Stubborn flakes may need additional treatment; rub a natural oil, such as olive or almond, on your baby's scalp, let it soak in for about 15 minutes, then brush or remove flakes with a comb.

Wash your baby's hair a few times a week, but not more than once per day, with baby shampoo. Use a baby conditioner if her hair is prone to tangles or dryness. Products for adults may be too harsh for your baby's hair.

Give your baby plenty of "tummy time." A baby who lays on his back for an extended period will rub a bald spot on the back of his head and may experience head flattening.

Ensure your baby is getting proper nutrition and sleep. Eating the right foods, particularly ones high in protein, such as fish, poultry and meat, may help with your baby's hair growth. These foods can be introduced when she is 7 to 8 months old.

Ask your doctor if your baby should take a multivitamin. Your pediatrician may be able to recommend or prescribe one for your baby.

While some babies come into the world with hair to rival a member of the Beatles, most are born with very little or no hair. Many babies born with a full head of hair lose what they are born with, and parents must wait until new hair grows in. It may be difficult to be patient, especially if you're the parent of a baby girl. You can do some things ensure your baby's hair grows in as quickly and thickly as possible. - by eHow
